The average farm is full of machinery and devices that can grab, cut, smash, and entangle fingers, hands, toes, and feet causing injury to the extremities and even death. The sad truth is that most of these injuries can be avoided.

Dear Editor,
I would like to congratulate the community on the high quality and amount of youth programming they produced this winter.
We had several different sports and activities all running at the same time with a very high level of involvement and success; it was very impressive. Our children had fun, learned new skills and made friends. The amount volunteer time put in was incredible and so uplifting to see. Thank you to all the organizers, coaches and assistants that made all of this possible.

Letter to the Editor
I am sending you this letter as I was a past participant in the RRWT tournament for the first time this past Sept.
I thought this was a great way to get out and meet fellow anglers and enjoy the stories of past tournaments and have a cool one with people.

I was shocked to discover that the pet food industry is self regulated. In other words they are not held to the same safety standards our food supply is by the government.

Can you hear me now? Better yet... Is that fast enough for you?
Last week all four of the new broadband towers were officially turned on in the west end of the Rainy River District, effectively providing affordable wireless high speed internet to Barwick, Burditt, Bergland, Deerlock, Morson and Pinewood areas. The new towers also saw consumers in Rainy River and Fort Frances benefit from lower prices for the service which was already available there.

Late Friday afternoon the Town of Rainy River received the best news it has heard in years.
The provincial government notified the community that it has approved $2.25 million in funding for the town to fix its long time sewer system problem that has seen the community’s hands tied when trying to grow in any way.
