We have already finished the first week of April. Sunday was Pass-over leading into the Christian Easter celebration. Normally at this part of April, the blanket of snow that has covered the district would have disappeared and Sunday morning services would be marked with bright sun shine and new Easter outfits that gave belief that the new season was upon us.
This year we will wait for the summer season a little bit longer.

Chop, chop, chop!
That was the sound that echoed through our neighbourhood over the weekend as me and my buddy Jim Armstrong and his wife Susie toiled away at the second half of a big wood pile.

Hippity hop on down to Rainy River this Saturday for the annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Rainy River Community Centre.

Peacefully on Friday March 27, 2009 at the Rainy River Health Centre, Wilfred Johnson of Gameland, Ont passed away at the age of 89.
