I understand that many people are talking about getting surveillance cameras and whatnot for the park and the rec centre. But my question is what good does it do if the perpetrators know that they are there? Will it not just add more aspect of thrill to their disgraceful acts of violence? I do not think that this should be public knowledge; it will likely have more of an effect if there is an element of surprise when the perpetrators are caught in the act and do not know where the cameras are, if there are any at all. It is most likely that the vandals are from the town and it is also likely that their parents read the papers and they may even possibly relay important things such as the “Our View” column to their children. Therefore I am asking you to please not report on such topics as it could be detrimental rather than helpful to the town, which I do not think is the intention of the article in this week’s column.

We had a beautiful evening for our Senior Prom held on the river property of Lady Round To It, (Elsie Gerula).
After the ladies had assembled we proceeded with the Grand March across the sun deck, pausing for a photo opportunity under the decorated arbour. The horn sounded, and each lady was announced by her Royal Title.

How do you insure the dollars you donate to foreign aid make it to the desperately needy. Is it wasted on fund raising and bureaucracy or skimmed off by a myriad of fingers along the way before it makes it to that struggling soul staring at you from the TV commercial.

Nobody likes mosquitoes but rest assured mosquitoes like us. Mosquitoes are known for spreading heartworm disease to dogs and also West Nile virus to horses and humans. Because of the increased threat of West Nile virus, homeowners should do their part in reducing mosquito populations around their yards and gardens.
